Lubeck Family: Waiting

That's pretty much what we're doing these days, just waiting for a baby who is taking his sweet time. He must be very comfy and cozy in there. He just doesn't realize that we have a super cute and comfy and cozy skeleton outfit for him to wear on Halloween. If he did, he would probably be rushing out to hop in it.

Our big project this week is apples. I got a bunch (48 pounds) of apples yesterday to use for all kids of food preserving. Only 40 cents a pound. What a deal! Although if we want any more, I'll just buy the ones that are already picked, it's almost the same price. Last night we made cranberry applesauce to turn into fruit leather and two apple pies to freeze. The best part about the whole night was using the food mill that Mom got for me for Christmas. My parents had one growing up and it is so handy! The one we have is nice because it just attaches to our Kitchen-Aid so it's not another appliance to take up room somewhere. I guess that the attachment takes up room as well, just not as much.

Here are some old pictures to enjoy of Ivy and Rex and Chrissy and some friends. Chrissy and her friends are very good about finding stuff to do during the day. A couple of weeks ago, we ended up at the arboretum at Virginia Tech after an unsuccessful bid for berry picking. We did make it berry picking a week later but I forgot to take any pictures. And another week, Chrissy's friend arranged for a tour of a local dairy. It was very small and didn't last very long but we got lots of samples afterwards.
