Lycopene Loss

Oh, Katie, I am SO sorry to hear about your tragic loss. Laurie and I have only gotten a handful of tomatoes from our plants as well, but in our case the plant just never produced. Too hot, probably. But in your case, you had them. You anticipated them. You loved them, cared for them and planned for them only to have your hopes dashed to pieces. I would send you tomatoes from our local farm stand, but I really don't think they'd make the journey. You'd better come out here, instead.

And now I would like to ask for a moment of silence in memory of the loved and lost...

...And now on to the pictures. I like your creative genius. My favorite is the wall in the park. I'm a sucker for wide-aperture (shallow focus) pictures as well as pictures with lots of natural green. The train is a fun one too because it is an unusual subject for a picture, and yet not at all unusual in life; not to mention that the lines and motion blur work really well together. Very creative. What kind of "fancy" camera did you get? The make and model number would be great, but I suppose I could settle for "a Kodak point-and-shoot" or "a Canon SLR"... at least for starters ;)

We Miss Grant!

Not only do we miss Grant, but all of you. Except for Peter, Chrissy, Ivy and Rex. We're sick of them. Just kidding! For the latest and greatest, check out jonandalexlubeck.blogspot.com. Trips are winding down in these parts. Just a wedding in Pennsylvania (State College) and one more trip to the temple in North Carolina (and Babies R Us!).

Laurie, I am loving the punch needle kit that you got for my birthday. I didn't realize until just now how thoughtful your present was. Thanks for the entire page of directions. It was so helpful! Especially since it's been about six months since I finished up the one that Mom got me at Christmas in New York. I looked up the company online and their patterns look so fun. Beware, you might be the middlewoman as my source for the Homespun (or whatever they're called) threads.
